THYMOSIN Alpha-1 and Beta-4

Thymosin is secreted from the thymus gland. Primarily, it stimulates the production of T-cells as part of the immune system. Thymosin is also involved in developing B-cells into plasma cells to produce antibodies.

Thymosin Alpha-1 is being considered for the treatment of hepatitis C, hepatitis B, malignant melanoma, hepatocellular carcinoma, drug-resistant tuberculosis, Di George’s syndrome, viral diseases, and chronic cancer. It is also used for chronic fatigue and Lyme disease.

Thymosin Beta-4 is the predominant form of thymosin and is noted for “repair and recovery.” It also plays an important role in the protection, regeneration, and remodeling of injured or damaged tissues. It is being considered for HIV therapy, AIDS, and influenza, and hair regrowth. It is usually prescribed to athletes who often have acute injuries and surgical repair.
